It has been a busy weekend. Due to Good Friday, my husband got a half day from work, which meant with his schedule that he got off at 10am. So, we all got up that morning and took him to be at work by 6am, went home for a few hours and got ready. Picked up Daddy at 10am and went to the Phoenix Zoo. This was my son’s first trip to the zoo. We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals. It was nice and breezy, not too hot.
That afternoon we were invited by my Dad and his Girlfriend to go dye eggs. So, I gathered up the kiddies and we went to try dying eggs. My daughter is old enough that she was very interested and even helped my finish her brother’s egg carton, but my son only wanted to hold the egg and any time I tried to get him to put it in a cup to color, he simply responded, “No, Mine!”
Easter Morning, the Easter bunny left the kids some fun things in their baskets. While Mommy was getting breakfast ready, we read the Easter story to hopefully give the kids a little understanding of the real purpose for this day. After breakfast we got ready to go to the park and meet my parents for a little Easter egg hunt, bubbles and sidewalk chalk.
And last but not least we had some yummy ham, potatoes, deviled eggs, etc for our Easter Feast. The kids have pretty much devoured all their jelly beans and peeps, so I am just waiting for the whining too begin to indicate that they are coming down from their sugar high and then it will be bed time. I am not going to push the issue before that, it would be a losing battle!
I hope everyone had a wonderful day with family, we sure did!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend! Kids are so fun, even when they are being stubborn (Joseph with the no mine comment). My kids love the zoo! Animals are awesome :)
