Thanksgiving, making buckeyes and other recent events.

Thanksgiving morning it has become the tradition to go with Daddy to the Turkey bowl and play in the playground while Daddy plays some football.  Here are some pictures of the kids having fun and one of Daddy having some fun.  Thanksgiving was different this year and quiet.  Some cousins came over for pie later in the day and to plan the excursions for getting up and out by 4am the next day (which I did not participate in), but for the most part we ate and relaxed after playing in the morning.

515 Buckeyes, also known as peanut butter balls, are a family tradition and they take a long time to make.  To save on some time, I premixed as much as I could in the kitchenaid and then threw the rest in the big bowl and had my daughter help.  She was more interested in eating the dough then helping Mommy mix it together.  She did help me put the balls on the pan for a while, until she got tired, then Mommy was left to finish rolling by herself.  Once dipped in chocolate, they didn’t last very long, but they are always worth all the trouble to make.516 517

The Christmas cookie and tree decorating extravaganza took place on the 12th of this month.  Lots of sugar and cousins= noisy house and tired babies.  Long naps after everyone left, but lots of fun,  enough said.

My husband’s work party is awesome! We have gone for the last three years and except for some entertainment issues last year, the food has been very expensive and in great places.  This year it was at the Biltmore.  We had wonderful food and great company at our table and a lot of laughs.  My sister watched our kids so we could go and we are thankful for that.  We got to dance together and have good fun.

We took the kids to see the lights at the Mesa Temple.  We got to hear some beautiful music and walk around talking about Jesus with our kids.  It was great being there with them.  We invited my husband’s brother’s family that lives in Mesa to meet us there and the kids loved it.  The picture of my son sleeping, was of his nap before we left to get Daddy and go to the lights,  he is such a big boy.  Thanks cousins for having some fun with us :)

014Pajamas from Grandpa. He wanted to make sure they fit and said that they were for the month of December.   I told my daughter to stand up tall and that is what she did. Too funny!                  015 016

My daughter’s preschool Christmas party.  The kids made light necklaces, goodie snowmen, gingerbread houses in a bag and they did a gift exchange. It was lots of fun.

025 027 This morning was the Christmas program at church so we all wore our special Christmas outfits.  My daughter loved her new dress and did that pose all by herself, she felt like a princess (and acts like it too).  The other was the best picture we got of them together.  My son’s new little outfit made him look more like a little boy rather than my baby boy.  He wouldn’t stay still long enough but I am glad we got some pictures.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas from Us!  May it be warm, safe and filled with LOVE!
